Mom shares genius hack to stop kids from having store meltdowns over Christmas gifts

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WSBT) -- Christmas is in full swing, meaning every store is decked out with glitter and glitz galore -- including all of this season's must-have toys.

One mom is sharing her genius hack to stop kids from having in-store meltdowns when they set their sights on that newest Frozen doll and absolutely have to have it.

Kristina Watts writes, "If you have kids like mine...that want the shiny amazing things that fill Target, the grocery store, Office Depot, the gas station, and pretty much everywhere you go this time of year, this is for you."

Here it is, plain and simple: take a picture. Yes, it's that easy!

Kristina says to pause for a minute and then say, “Let’s take a picture with it and send it to Santa so he knows you want it!” She says you can use Santa's name, grandma's, or any person's you want; it's fine to pawn it off on someone else every time.

According to the post, her child will put the toy down every time without throwing a fit, making trips to any store easy as 1-2-3:

"Magically, Emmie smiles, says cheese, asks to see the picture, then PUTS THE TOY DOWN AND WALKS AWAY. It’s magical. No tears. No tantrums (by either of us). And she forgets about all of them within minutes," Kristina writes.

The Facebook post has since been shared over 54,000 times and has garnered 16,000 comments.
